We hope most of you are able to stay in town for the weekend and enjoy a vacation in North Carolina. There are several things to do around Raleigh over the weekend.

If you’re in the area for a little longer, you can enjoy a vacation to the beautiful beaches of North Carolina, most of which are just two hours away from Raleigh.(http://www.visitnc.com/coast)

North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (FREE)
This is supposed to be the most visited attraction in the state and the largest natural sciences museum in the southeast. It’s located in downtown Raleigh, just a few blocks from the Sheraton.

North Carolina Museum of History (FREE)

Right across from the Museum of Natural Sciences. This is a great place to explore North Carolina’s past and learn about its people. Has exhibits that highlight the state’s history, decorative arts, sports heroes and more.

Pullen Park (FREE)
The park features picnic areas and several small rides including the Pullen Park Carousel, a kiddie train, and paddle boats. It’s located very close to downtown Raleigh, near the NC State campus.

North Carolina Museum of Art (FREE)

Art museum with over 40 galleries. The most popular part of the museum is the outdoor museum park, which includes 2 miles of walking paths in a sculpture garden.

Marbles Kids Museum

Highly rated children’s museum in downtown. It’s a great place for little ones! It’s also located in downtown Raleigh, not too far from the other museums.
